Durable Medical Equipment

WHAT IS DURABLE MEDICAL EQUIPMENT?

Durable Medical Equipment (DME) is a broad term used to describe any type of device that is primarily used for a medical purpose. In addition, DME is designed for repeated use and is appropriate for use in your home. Lastly, DME is not useful to an individual in the absence of injury or illness.

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT OF DME?

You will meet with your All American Medical provider, and together, your healthcare needs will be assessed to achieve positive results and better health. As such, DME can improve, restore, and maintain the function of a malformed or injured body part. In some instances, DME can minimize or prevent the deterioration of your injury or illness.

WHAT ARE SOME EXAMPLES OF DME?

Some common examples of durable medical equipment include lumbar braces, wrist braces, neck braces, walkers, and foot orthotics.

IS IT COVERED BY INSURANCE?

Yes. In the majority of cases, DME will be covered by your insurance. As a service, the staff at All American Medical will handle the entire billing process for you, so you can concentrate on your health.
