What Is Active Release Technique?
Active Release Technique is a soft tissue system/movement-based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, and ligaments. These conditions are a result of muscle pulls or tears, an accumulation of small tears, or muscles not getting enough oxygen (hypoxia).
What Conditions Can Active Release Treat?
Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the conditions that can be treated with this technique. All these conditions are a result of overused muscles.
What Is The Course Of Treatment?
Each Active Release Technique is the combination of examination and treatment. Your healthcare provider uses his hands to evaluate the texture, tightness and movement of muscles, tendons, and ligaments. As your Active Release Provider encounters abnormalities in the muscles, he treats those abnormalities by combining direct tension and very specific patient movements.
Will Active Release Technique Help Carpal Tunnel?
In a pilot study in the Journal of Chiropractic Medicine by James W. George, DC and others, patients who were experiencing carpal tunnel syndrome and were treated with Active Release Technique, experienced significant improvement as compared to the control group of patients who were not receiving Active Release Treatment.
